D. R. (Doc) Thrush is the founder and managing partner of Savant Group, LLC. He has over 35 years of experience as a Registered Investment Adviser and Financial Planner.
He attended St. Cloud State University graduating from the study fields of business administration and leadership and continued his studies at Thomas Edison College in the field of Clinical Psychology. He retired from the US Army as a Colonel in the Army Medical Service. He attended many major command level leadership and management courses. He currently is serving as the Capital District Kiwanis Board of Directors; he also serves as the President of the Kiwanis Club of Virginia Beach. He has had significant involvement in community service and professional organizations, including President of the Kiwanis District Foundation, President of the Tidewater Council of the Boy Scouts of America and President of the Hampton Roads Chapter of Certified Financial Planners. He is highly qualified and currently serves as the President of the Norfolk Chapter of the FBI’s Citizen’s Academy Alumni Assn. He has attended both the Virginia Beach and Norfolk Citizen’s police Academies as well as Virginia Beach CERT training. He works approximately 25 hours per week on community service business and receives no compensation for this work.
