Past President
Linwood O. Branch is a well-known Virginia Beach business leader who operates the Days Inn at the Beach and is chair of the Virginia Beach Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
He was previously a member of the Virginia Beach City Council, serving from 1992 to 2002. He served as a commissioner for the Virginia Beach Development Authority, and his term ended in 2014.
Branch is a member of the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts board of directors and is a past president of the Virginia Beach Performing Arts Center Foundation.
He has served as president of the Virginia Beach Hotel/Motel Association and the Resort Retailers Association. In 2007, he was honored by the Virginia Beach Jaycees as First Citizen of Virginia Beach. Recipients of this award exemplify the spirit of citizenship and leadership through their time, talents and efforts towards the betterment of Virginia Beach. He is a past member of the Resort Advisory Commission, and past chair of the Blue Ribbon Tax, Fee and Spending Task Force. He serves on the board of Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ Hampton Roads chapter.
Branch is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College. He and his wife Robin have two children, Robin and Lindsey.
